How to complete both Myrddin's and Trysha's Grimoires Quests - Dragon's Dogma 2
There is only one set of the Grimoires books that are needed to complete both Myrddin’s and Trysha’s Grimoires Quests in Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, there is a way to be able to complete both questlines in the same playthrough and obtain all rewards.
Unlocking Myrddin's Grimoires Quest
Myrddin can be found at his home at Checkpoint Rest Town, to be able to talk to him you must wear the Courtly Attire outfit. If you are not wearing both the Tunic and Breechers then he will turn you away.
After exhausting Myrddin’s dialogue he will ask you to bring the 5 Grimoire books to him as a quest.
Unlocking Trysha's Grimoires Quest
Trysha can be located north of Melve at Eini’s Home. For Trysha to talk freely with you, you must talk to her while her grandparents Eino and Eini are not around. If the grandparents done look to be leaving the home then you can simply pick them up and drop them outside or just far enough away from the house so that Trysha can talk to you about the Grimoires.
You will need to hand in the Grimoires to Trysha in secret without letting her grandparents know as she isn’t suppose to be learning any sort of magic.
Where to find the Grimoires in Dragon's Dogma 2
Fulminous Shield
Fulminous Shield can be bought from a merchant called Dudley for 5,000G. Dudley can be found in either Melve or Checkpoint Rest Town.
Let there be Light
Let there be Light is one of the easier Grimoire books to obtain as it is actually inside of Myrddin’s home. However, make you sure jump onto the balcony to get inside his home to pick up the Grimoire or going through the front door will have Myrddin follow you around the house and if he sees you take items from his home he will turn aggressive.
Nation's Death Knell and Howling Blizzard
Both the Nation’s Death Knell and Howling Blizzard can be obtained from the same chest inside the Waterfall Cave. Waterfall Cave is located in Northern Vermund/Base of Mt. Alles.
Warning, after opening the chest this will spawn a Wraith.
Towering Earth
Towering Earth can be obtained from Waldhar, you just need to make sure the quest is activated and he will happily give you the Grimoire. Depending on where you are with the quests, Waldhar may still be in Vernworth’s goal if you have yet to complete the Free the Magistrate quest.
Unless you have completed that questline, Waldhar can be located in the secret tome library that you have helped me escape to underground the Vernworth’s Slums.
Forging the Grimoires in Dragon's Dogma
You will need to have all five Grimoire books forged by Ibrahim at his Scrap Store, located at the Checkpoint Rest Town. Paying 6,000G for each book to be forged.
Completing Myrddin's Quest
Once you have obtained all five forgery items you will need to hand Myrddin the forged Grimoires. Make sure you check which Grimoires are the real ones to the fake ones before giving Myrddin them as you will need the real books for Trysha.
Myrddin will reward you with a robe, 11,000G, and the Chronicle Scroll which will teach the maelstrom ultimate spell for Sorcerers.
Completing Trysha's Quest
To hand the Grimoires in to Trysha you will need to make sure this is done in secret again, without the grandparents in sight. Once you have given Trysha all five of the real Grimoire Books you will need to visit her again in a couple of days.
After a few days time you will have a short cutscene of Trysha using magic spells just outside of Eini’s home. Trysha will become targetable but to complete this part of the quest you wont need to attack Trysha. Follow Trysha around until she cannot teleport away anymore and you will be able to Grab her.
You will need to wait a day or two before you can visit Eini’s house to complete the Spellbound quest, Trysha, Eini, and Eino will each stop to talk to you and give you a reward.
Trysha will give you the Conjurer’s Jottings which will teach you the Meteoron spell for Sorcerers.
Eini will give you the Enchanter’s Almanac to teach you Celestial Paean for Mages.
Eino will give you Aphonite’s Tome that will grant the Aphonite specialization, which stops you pawn from speaking except very select circumstances.
Questions
Why doesnt Trysha give me the quest?
Trysha will only give you the Spellbound quest when you talk to her and her grandparents arent around.
Why wont Myrddin talk to me?
Myrddin will only talk to you and give you the quest if you are wearing the Courtly Attire Tunic and Breechers.
Where to hand in the Grimoire Books to?
The Grimoire Books can be handed in to Myrddin at Checkpoint Rest Town and to Trysha at Eini’s house.
Stuck on Trysh's quest nothing happening
If your quest is stuck on wait a few days then go to check on Trysha after handing the Grimoire books in, check the Vernworth morgue, it is possible that Eini could have been killed by other ai such as nearby wolves. Once resurrected you can then visit the house and finish the questline.
