WOW Dragonflight Tank Tier List
With the change to talent trees in Dragonflight, there have been lots of changes to how each class performs. So we wanted to share our WoW Dragonflight Tank Tier List to give you the best chance of surviving on the front lines.
All tanks have their differences, but overall its a situation of surviving, keeping defensives up and leeching health where possible. So its important to know what type of tank you want to be. Lets go over each of the tanks, their playstyles and where they sit in the the tank raking. So lets share which tank is performing best in dragonflight and explain the Best Dragonflight Tanks.
WoW Dragonflight Tank Tier List
This Tank Tier Tier List takes into account the health, damage, defensives and utility and overall survivability in PvE scenarios. Each tank has their own pro’s and cons, but overall some tanks are clearing performing better than others after the dragonflight talent reworks.
Protection Warrior
Protection Warrior is the absolute KING of tanking in Dragonflight. There is no question that warriors are the best tank in dragonflight, in both mythic plus and raid content. What makes prot warriors so strong is that they are outputting some of the best damage, and have the best survivability in most situations.
Warriors have a ton of prective and defensive abilities as part of their toolkit, but now in dragonflight, their 4 set bonus gives them increased defensives. This makes dragonflight the most defensive and tanky of all the tank classes in dragonflight. Combining their plate armour with talents and abilities like spell block, shield wall and demoralizing shout makes protection warriors super defennsive in panic situations.
On top of all this prot warriors can deal huge cleave damage with their offensive cooldowns making them easily the best tank in dragonflight.
Vengeance Demon Hunter
Whereas warrior has incredible defensives, demon hunters shine with their leech abilities. Soul Fragments are their main resource that drops health orbs to regain health. Fel Devestation turns you into a demon, puts out huge damage and heals you for a percent of damage taken.
On top of this, demon hunters have huge AoE damage and some of the best mobility, able to jump into huge packs, deal high damage and pop defensives. The whole time leaching for any health lost. Demon Hunters are a little more complex tanks than warriors but when played correctly, are easily one of the best dragonflight tanks.

Protection Paladin:
Protection paladins have seen some of the biggest reworks over time, but right now they are easily one of the best tanks in dragonflight. What they lack in defensives or leech, they make up for with huge group utility and healing. Paladins bring so much to a group, with blessings, cc’s, cleanses and heals.
The strength of a paladin tank comes from its blessings, helping to protect from damage with blessing of sacrifice and blessing of protection. Combined with amazing heals that can be used on the party of itself and great defensives from both its plate armour and defensive cooldowns.
Paladin has a great playstyle, charging in on the divine steed, throwing the avenging shield and laying down consecrated ground. But it does lack mobility, and the same defensives/leech of other tanks, which keeps it slightly lower on the list of best dragonflight tanks.

Best Tanks In Dragonflight
These is it for our Dragonflight tank tier list and these are our top tanks. The others that aren’t covered in our top 3 are all still viable at endgame, there are just small things that hold them back compared to the others.
