Diablo 4 has come with many systems, items, and new features. In this guide, we are going to cover everything on Diablo 4 Helltide.
What are Helltides?
Helltides in Diablo 4 is a special event that can randomly occur anywhere in Sanctuary. They usually take up two sections of the map and will last 60 minutes. These can be identified on the map with a ‘The Helltide Rises’ icon and the affected map areas are highlighted in red.
How to unlock Helltides in Diablo 4
To unlock the Helltides and participate in the events, players must first unlock World Tier 3: Nightmare difficulty as Helltides do not spawn in Tier 1 and 2.
To be able to enter World Tier 3: Nightmare difficulty, you need to reach level 50 and complete the required dungeon.
Diablo 4 Helltide Rewards and Currency
The Aberrant Cinders are spent on opening different Tortured Gifts around the Helltide event areas. Tortured Gifts will drop gear pieces, including Legendary, Crafting Materials, Cosmetic items, and Elixirs.
Tortured Gift chests types that can be found:
- Tortured Gift of Protection (75 Aberrant Cinders)
- Tortured Gift of Jewelry (125 Aberrant Cinders)
- Tortured Gift of Weaponry (150 Aberrant Cinders)
- Tortured Gift of Mysteries (175 Aberrant Cinders)
Diablo 4 Helltide Tips
Helltide Bosses – Many Bosses and elites will spawn during the helltide event
Kixxarth, Helltide Assassin – This is a rare boss that seems to spawn every Helltide and doesn’t seem to drop many Aberrant Cinders.
Tortured Gifts – Gifts can only be opened once per event
Tortured Gift of Mysteries – This is the only chest type that does not show up on the map so pay close attention to your mini-map!
