How to obtain the Wild Strikes Rune in Season of Discovery
This post is to help cover everything you need to know on how to obtain the Wild Strikes Rune in Season of Discovery WoW Classic. Both Alliance and Horde factions obtain this from the same location in Azeroth so be cautious if you are on a PvP server.
Stonetalon Mountains
Stonetalon Mountains is located South of Darkshore and Ashenvale. You will most likely see both Alliance and Horde around in this zone due to a handful of runes in Season of Discovery can be found here.
For Alliance; there are a couple of ways you can get to Stonetalon Mountains, take the boat to Darkshore from Menthrill Harbour then run South of Ashenvale through the tunnel connecting to Stonetalon Mountains. Or you can also take the boat from Booty Bay to Ratchet and then head west into Stonetalon Mountains.
Grimtotem Brute
To obtain the Idol of the Wild you will need to defeat Grimtotem Brutes in the southeast of Stonetalon Mountains, you will be able to find a couple of camps around in the hills here.
It shouldn’t take too long for the Idol of the Wild to drop but this is RNG.
Idol of the Wild
Once you have obtained the Idol of the Wild you will need to equip this so it appears next to your weapon in your equipment menu. The goal to complete the Idol is to heal 10 different friendly beats and then ‘use’ to obtain the Wild Strikes Rune.
The easiest way to do this is to head to a major town or city and heal any druid that is in bear form or cat form. You can also heal different types of Hunter Pets which should help you reach the 10 that is required. The player or pet you are trying to heal can be full HP when healed for it to count and you will need to use Healing Touch for it to count, regens do not work.
Wild Strikes
Wild Strikes in Season of Discovery is incredibly strong and a must-have party buff for raids and dungeons. Since Alliance does not have access to Shaman, they do not have any form of Windfury Totem. However, this new Rune that has come with Season of Discovery allows Alliance to be able to access a similar buff.
‘While you are in Cat Form, Bear Form, or Dire Bear Form, party members within 20 yards gain increased combat ferocity. Each melee hit has a 20% chance of granting the attacker an extra attack with 20% additional Attack Power. No effect if the party member is already benefitting from Windfury Totem.’
