What is Taming in Mortal Online 2
You can make many different types of builds in Mortal Online 2, the game is packed full of different skills and abilities and in this post we are going to break down what is taming in Mortal Online 2.
Taming
Taming is a primary action skill that allows you to tame different beasts and creatures across the map. However, it is not possible to tame every creature in Mortal Online 2.
Some are different to others when it comes to taming horses and pigs can be tamed by walking up and interacting with them. While other aggressive beasts may require you to put the creature into ‘mercy‘ mode to give you the chance to tame it.
Once you have tamed your pets there are a few more exciting things you can do with your tames, there is a whole beast mastery system that allows you to give your tames special attacks.
How does taming work?
When your taming level goes up this gives you the chance to tame higher level creatures, your taming level is mainly based on the level of the creature and not the actual creature itself. For example, you may be able to tame a level 5 wolf easily but struggle on a level 100 pig.
Too low to gain skill levels
This means that the creature you are trying to tame will not give you any taming experience, but this should be easy for you to tame.
Low chance for you to tame
When trying to tame a creature and you see this text under the name of the animal, this means that it is possible to tame this creature. However, it is a low chance, you may struggle, but you can also use this to gain experience points for your taming action level.
Too difficult for you to tame
If you come across an animal that has ‘too difficult’ this means that the animal is too high of a level to be tamed and/or your taming level is too low for this creature to be tamed.

How to unlock taming
Taming can be unlocked in Haven as soon as you spawn into the game for the first time, head over to the stable on the West entrance to Haven, talk to the Taming Tutor NPC, and select ‘Teach me about Taming‘. From here you can also learn about Creature Control and other tips on taming.
Taming Books
There are many helpful action skills for taming, which allows you to have higher level pets and multiple pets out at once. See our Tamer Action Skills Explained page for more information.
Reading books for the taming skills will take your action skill points up to level 70 alone, then if you’d like to go past level 70 you will need to do further leveling.
How to level taming
Since your taming level depends more on the level of the animal rather than the animal itself, you can find any animal or creature in the wild and use that to level your taming up with. The best method is finding an animal that has ‘Low chance for you to tame‘.
When taming the creature, the circle is split into four sections with four checkpoints. You need to be able to pass each checkpoint to be able to tame the creature. If you are looking for a creature to purely level with, the fastest way to level your taming skill is by finding an animal then cancelling the tame before the final checkpoint.
At each point, you will receive taming experience so canceling it before the last checkpoint will grant you the most experience per tame attempt. Then canceling the tame will let you attempt to tame the creature again giving you more experience.
