In this post, we are going to cover Beast Mastery in Mortal Online 2. Beast Mastery is an interesting system and can be really important for builds that include pets.

How does Beast Mastery work?

The core part of Beast Mastery is that it increases the regeneration of pet focus. It also unlocks special skills and abilities that your pets and mounts can do, for example, movement speed bonuses and damage increase.

Influence

After unlocking Beast Mastery you will now be able to unlock the influence for each creature in Mortal Online 2. To unlock the influence of each creature you will need to have that creature tamed or dominated and to have built up enough focus to use one of the abilities.

Creature specific Mastery

There is another step in Beast Mastery which is available for every creature tameable and dominatable in the game. This is usually required for two of the four skills that your pet can use with the focus cost. To unlock this you will need to read the book that is specific to that creature, for example, once you have read the book ‘Wolf Mastery‘ you can use the abilities that require Wolf Mastery for wolves and dire wolves.

These books can be obtained across the map in Mortal Online 2, found at POI’s and dungeons.

How to unlock Beast Mastery

Beast Mastery in Mortal Online 2 can be obtained from the vendor in Jungle Camp, located in the South East of the Jungle. You can buy this book for 25G.

Leveling Beast Mastery

After reading the book Beast Mastery, you can continue to level the skill by using a pet’s ability. All pets have an ability that can be used at level 1 influence. Each time you use a pet ability this will give you 9 experience.

Questions

Does Beast Mastery work on Risen Pets?

Pet abilities and skills are not available for Risen Pets. However, Beast Mastery does increase the focus generation.

Is it worth using the pet abilities?

For combat pets, it is mainly best to use after 500 focus, as focus also increases the damage your pets do, it does cap out at 500 focus so it is worth spending focus after 500.

Is it worth taking Beast Mastery even if you aren't a tamer?

Yes, after unlocking beast mastery you can still have access to mount abilities. Spur On from horses is a very popular one as it helps with stamina drain and the focus generation isn’t as important as horses do not auto-attack when told to attack.
