Lies of P Stats Explained

Lies of P stats explained and full attribute guide:

Like many souls-like game, stats and attributes are a very important part of creating and building your character, however they are very poorly explained in Lies of P. So Lets go over all of the lies of P stats and explain what they do and the kinds of builds you can make with them. If you are starting the game we also have a Lies of P Best Starting Class guide to help you make the right choice.

Lies of P Stats Explained

Lies of P Stats

Vitality (Health)

The Lies of P Vitality stat affects your health, and increasing Vitality increases your total health. Health is a very important stat in souls-like games, because as you progress bosses will hit you for huge amounts of damage and you will need a large health pool to survive.

Vigor (Stamina)

Vigor is your stamina and increasing it will increase your maximum stamina bar. Stamina is used for attacking, rolling and running. Characters who want to play a fast dextrous build and use small fast weapons, will want to put a lot of points into Vigor.

Capacity (Armor Weight)

Capacity is your weight in Lies of P, increasing this stat will increase your maximum weight, allowing you to wear heavier equipment. Also, the better equipment in the game has much higher weight, so you will need a higher capacity to wear it.

If you don’t have a lot of points in capacity and try wearing heavy equipment, you will find yourself “heavy” or “slightly heavy” slowing your character down. Capacity is very important for characters wanting to play a Motivity (str) class and focus on blocking and trading attacks.

Motivity (Strength)

Motivity is the equivalent of strength in Lies of P. Increasing this will increase the damage of strength based weapons such as great swords and giant weapons. If you’re increasing your motivity you should be looking for weapons that scale with it, A/B motivity weapons work best.

Technique (Dexterity)

Technique is basically dexterity in Lies of P. Increasing it will increase your damage with technique based weapons, such as daggers and short blades. Investing lots of points into Technique you should be looking for weapons that scale well with technique.

Advance (Magic)

Advance is your magic damage, or your ability to deal damage with elemental weapons and effects. This works really well if you plan on using elemental weapons such as the salamander dagger, or want to invest in using flamethrower or lightening attachments on your legion weapon.

This is more of a niche build, but can be very powerful if you find the right weapon that scales with Advance and can back it up with your legion arm.

What Do the Letters on Weapons Mean?

weapon scaling In this Lies of P Stats Explained guide, we also wanted to cover how these stats impact weapons. Weapons in Lies of P scale with different stats and become more powerful depending on your build. For example a huge great sword with an A for motivity will do more damage if you have lots of motivity. Similarly if you have an A scaling Motivity weapon, you would want to have a lot of motivity to deal such high damage. Fextralife have a Lies of P weapon list of every weapon in the game if you want to check this out before decieding what stats to invest in.

Not only this but you can also mix and match your weapons with the weapon assembly system. So if you want a fast dagger with high technique, but on a long lance, you can do this. Check out our complete Lies of P weapon assembly guide if you want to learn more about this.

Is there a Cap on Stats?

Like most souls-like games, there does seem to be a cap in Lies of P. From our testing, Lies of P Stats seem to receive less benefit once you have them at 30. So if you’re looking to spread you points out, it would be good to slow down at around 30 in one stat, as you will start to see diminishing returns at this point.
