FFXIV How To Level Alt Jobs Fast

One of the key features of FFXIV is the ability to level all jobs (classes) on one character, but this be a mountain of a task, so lets cover some of the big tips to speed up alt leveling and answer the question – FFXIV How to level alt jobs:

Top Leveling Tips:

Level 1-16

Level 17-50

Level 51-60

Level 61-70

Level 71-90

Top Leveling Tips:

Roulettes (Daily) – These are always great to do each day, specifically, MSQ/Frontlines/Levelling/Alliance Raid give amazing XP for the time invested.

Chloe’s Wonderous Tales (Weekly) – You can hand the wonderous tales in once per week, and it gives 50% of a level to the job you hand in with. This also scales to any level, so highly recommend this, especially at the higher levels.

Food Bonus 3% food bonus from eating. Something as simple as boiled eggs are super cheap, but give the XP boost.

Equipment Bonus – There are many XP boosting items, but the best that lasts you right up to lvl81, is Menphina’s Earing (for pre-ordering Endwalker) giving a 30% XP bonus right up to lvl81.
Alt Bonus 100% experience onus for any job below your highest, drops to 50% bonus from lvl81-90 (Current expansion) So focus on hitting 90 with your main first, then reap the fast levels on your other jobs and level those alt jobs fast.
Level 1-16:

The fastest way to level from 1 to 16 is going to be class quests and
hunt logs. The early levels go by very fast, and you’ll be gaining
multiple levels from one activity at some points. From Levels 1-15
you want to focus on your class quests as they reward spells and gear, and then your hunting log. Doing your hunt log (press H) will give you XP for each group of enemies you tick off and then a huge boost once you clear an entire page of the hunt log.
Level 17-50:

You have 3 options here and I’ll rank them by how fast they are to level alt jobs in FFXIV:

Dungeon Spam (Easiest but slow for DPS):
The fastest way to level from 16-50 is dungeon spamming. The first time you hit 16 and do a roulette, you can easily gain 2-3 levels. Do your levelling roulette every day and then spam the highest-level

dungeon you can. If you are a DPS, this gets easier with friends, if you’re a tank or healer, ques should be fine.

Palace of the dead (Fast, but tricky):

You can unlock the palace of the dead,
FFXIV’s first deep dungeon at level 17 in New Gridania, with the
quest “the house that death built”. The FFXIV deep dungeons allow you to queue in and progress up floors of randomised mobs and give a chunk of experience.
Therefore it’s much faster to jump in solo as a DPS, rather than queuing up solo for dungeons.

Palace of the dead does give more experience but is super tedious in my opinion and if you’re not doing it optimally the exp can be bad. You want to clear the first 50 floors of the palace of the dead, and then queue into floors 51-60. Once you clear floor 60, leave and go back in at floor 51, rinse and repeat and level up super fast. But make sure you’re clearing fast in here.

Command Missions/Trusts (Slow):
If you don’t like playing with others so don’t want to do dungeon spam, and don’t like or can’t do palace of the dead. Command missions are unlocked as part of your grand company progression and let you run dungeons with NPCs and trust dungeons let you run outright with NPC members. I will always say NPCs are slower and weaker than real players generally, so the experience is slower. But if you’re playing in the middle of the night, or just can’t find groups, this is an alternative.

Level 51-60:

You now have more duty roulettes to run, they give the most daily XP so make sure you tick those off each day, on top of that it’s really just more of the same. The same 3 options above, are still relevant from 51-60. More dailies, and more dungeon/palace spam.

You also start to unlock beast tribes that can give XP while waiting for dungeon que’s, but these are only once per day, per tribe. With an overall total of 9 beast tribe quests a day.
Level 61-70: Stormblood ffxiv

Dungeon Spam (Easiest):
Again back to dungeon spam, now you work through the Stormblood dungeons, doing the highest level dungeon available to you. Dungeon spam can be tedious, but if you have roulettes and you’re not trying to spam it all out in one day, it can be a nice break. Log in one day, do a few roulettes, and do a dungeon near your level. The next day do the same and each day it’s a different dungeon This gets slow when you’re trying to spam the same dungeon on repeat as you can easily get fatigued.

Heaven On High (Tricky but fast):
FFXIV’s second deep dungeon based in the stormblood expansion, heaven on high. Again this goes as an unpopular but very powerful option, as if you can pull it off correctly its great experience, but if not, it doesn’t compare to dungeons.

You need to have completed lvl50 of palace of the dead, covered above and completed the quest knocking on heavens door from the ruby sea. For the real min max leveling speed, you want to clear up to floor 20 and then que in to run floors 21-30 on repeat here to gain the maximum XP per hour.

Again Stormblood beast tribes are also a viable option to top up some levels each day.

Level 71-90:

Pixies Tribe (Best, but time gated):
The pixie tribe from Shadowbringers, is incredibly easy to do each day and gives a huge load of Experience. You can only do 3 of these tribe quests per day however, so make sure if you’re in this bracket, to do these quests.

Arkasodara Tribe (Best, but time gated):
The arkasodara tribe from Endwalker, is then the next best source of experience in your final 10 levels!
Bozja Southern Front/Zadnor (Best, but grindy):
Bozja southern front from Shadowbringers in FFXIV is the hands down best way to level from 70-90. You get an insane amount of XP from doing the fates as they spawn, and then as the critical engagements spawn you get an extra bump of XP.

leveling bozja

Dungeon Spam (Always an option):
If you still have any dungeon spam left in you at this point, it still gives good XP, keep at it!
Honestly, doing the tribe quest, and grinding in bozja will take you straight through form 71 to 90. If you enjoy it, this is such a nice place to turn your brain off and just grind mobs, critical engagements, fates and watch the levels rack up. Alternatively Shadowbringers and Endwalker have some amazing dungeons that you can spam through.

Hope this FFXIV How to level Alt Jobs guide helps answer the question and give some tips to get those alts up to max level.

There are plenty of other options such as hunt trains, fate farming, side quests and many more, but I always find the ones listed above to be the most efficient!
