There are 100’s of mounts in FFXIV so we wanted to search around for the easiest mounts to get. This list will cover the mounts collected by the largest percentage of people to see what the FFXIV easiest mounts to get.
Story Mounts (8):
You will receive the following mounts just for playing through the story. Will keep any images out and just include their names to avoid any spoilers, but there are no additional requirements here, other than play through the MSQ from beginning to end, making it one of the FFXIV Easiest Mounts to get.
- My Little Chocobo
- Magitek Armour
- Black Chocobo
- Manacutter
- Midgardsm
- Yol
- Argos
Achievement Certificates (2):
Some mounts can be obtained from trading achievement certificates to Johnas in Old Gridania. Achievement Certificates are awarded for every 50 achievement points earned. Most new players will be able to earn the achievement rewards pretty fast and buy these mounts.

- Magitek Death Claw
- Extreme Mounts
Extreme Mounts (46 and more releasing each patch):
Each of the main story extremes from each expansion drop is based around a certain theme. And once each mount is obtained, there is a simple quest to receive another mount as a reward for gathering them all.
There are a total of 8 mounts obtainable from each expansion, plus 4 currently in Endwalker, totaling 46 Extreme mounts, and each expansion has its theme, ARR horses, Heavensward Lanners (birds), Stormblood Kamuys (dogs), Shadowbringers dragons (wipers) finally Endwalker Lynxes (big cats).
As these earlier trials can now be unsynced and soloed pretty quickly, most people have obtained these extreme mounts in some aspect.
Tribal mounts (17 and more releasing each patch):
Tribes in FFXIV (formerly named beast tribes), give daily quests and reward reputation. Once receiving certain reputations with each tribe, an amount can be purchased from the vendor of each tribe.
Given that these quests are generally very easy and accessible to everyone, most people will own one of the tribal mounts. As of right now, there are 17 tribal mounts to grind and collect. Won’t list them all to avoid spoilers, but check out this great guide for detailed information on how to unlock each tribal mount:
Miscellaneous:
White Mage – For some strange reason, Square Enix allowed just one job to receive a class mount, the white mage.
So lots of people have this unicorn mount, just for reaching level 30 and unlocking the white mage class. So if you’re looking for an easy mount and want to level a healer, grab this one.
Player Commendations – For reaching 500 player commendations, players can receive the gilded magitek armor.
Crafting – There are 2 crafted mounts in FFXIV, the magicked bed created by carpenters and the flying chair created by alchemists. Not only are these relatively easy to make, they are sold for cheap on the market board.
