Why Can’t I Access My SSS Account?
Mistakes happen. If you’ve tried the wrong user ID or password five times a row, your SSS account gets locked.
You may have mistyped your login details or forgotten them entirely. It’s easy to make this mistake without seeing what you’ve typed.
Calm Down and Reset Your Password.
If you keep guessing your password, you might lock your account. Instead, follow these steps to reset it. It’s easier and saves you a lot of trouble.
Steps to Unlock Your SSS Account
Step 1: Stay Calm
First things first, take a deep breath. Almost all SSS transactions can be done online. You don’t need to visit an SSS office to unlock your account.
Step 2: Prepare Your CRN or SSS Number
The steps are similar whether you’re an individual member or an employer. To unlock your account online, you need your CRN or SSS number. If you’re an employer, you’ll need your Employer ID number.
Step 3: Find Your CRN or SSS Number
Your CRN is on your UMID card. Your SSS number was given to you when you first registered with SSS. If you need to remember your number, you can find guides online to help you locate it.
Getting Your Locked SSS Account Back
Steps to Recover Your SSS Account
If you’re locked out of your SSS account, don’t worry. Follow these steps to regain access.
Step 1: Visit the Official SSS Website
First, head to the official SSS website. Click on the Member Portal to get started.
Step 2: Forgot User ID or Password?
Find and click the link that says “Forgot User ID or Password?” This will take you to the recovery options.
Step 3: Choose Your Recovery Method
Using Your Email:
This option will send a reset link to your registered email. Provide your CRN/SSS number and complete the captcha.
Ensure there are no spaces or special characters when entering your CRN/SSS number. If you get an error saying SSS doesn’t recognize your number, try again. Sometimes it takes a few tries.
Step 4: Check Your Email
SSS will send you an email with a password reset link. Check your inbox, spam, or trash folders. Sometimes, it takes a bit of time, so be patient.
Once you get the email, remember that the reset link is valid for 120 hours.
Steps to Change Your SSS Account Email
You can follow these instructions if you need to update your SSS account email. Simply send an email to either [email protected] or [email protected].

Unlocking Your SSS Account Without Email Access
What If You Can’t Access Your Email?
If your SSS account is locked and you can’t access the email you used to register, don’t worry. Here’s what you can do.
For Members
Step 1: Request a New Email
While SSS can’t help you access your old email, they can update it with a new one. This allows you to reset your password quickly.
How to Request:
Send an email to [email protected] or [email protected]. Use the subject line “Request to Update Account Email Address.”
Attachments:
If you don’t have a UMID card, use two other valid IDs with your photo and signature. Also, include a “selfie” holding these IDs for verification.
For Employers
Step 1: Write a Formal Request
Employers need to send a formal letter to update their email address.
What to Include:
Write a letter explaining why you need to change your registered email. Attach this letter to an email sent to [email protected] or [email protected]. Also, include:
- An image of your latest L-501 Form
- Valid IDs for identification
Following these steps, you can unlock your SSS account even if you can’t access your registered email. Stay calm and handle it step by step!
