But this is incredibly hard given the slow and dangerous leveling process of classic WoW. So here is our tier list for the best classes to level within Hardcore. WoW Classic Hardcore Tier List
This tier list is based on leveling speed, ability to farm, and clear packs of enemies and elite mobs. And the ability to escape from dangerous situations, which is incredibly important in Hardcore Classic WoW, when 100’s hours of leveling could be over from one bad pull. So let’s break down some of the best and worst classes and why.
S Tier – Mage
Like the Hunter, this is another of the best leveling classes in Classic WoW, and with the addition of hardcore, this is still one of the best classes. With AoE leveling in frost spec, you will be able to clear entire pack mobs and level super fast. But you also have a ton of survivability with Frost Nova, slowing spells, shields, blinks, and polymorphs.
As a mage, you have a full toolkit of things to get you out of trouble, and a huge range of spells to take on multiple enemies at once. However this is a high-skill playstyle, you need to kite lots of mobs at once with the worst armor class in the game. It’s very easy to mess up if you haven’t played a mage before, but if you can learn this style, this is one of the best characters and ranks highest on our WoW Classic Hardcore Tier list
S Tier – Hunter
The hunter has always been the king of leveling in Classic WoW, with some of the best speed runners being hunters. And this remains the same in classic WoW hardcore.
Hunters have high speed from the aspect of the cheetah, the ability to tackle lots of difficult mobs with their pets, traps, and escape abilities. And on top of all this, they have feigned death to trick enemies into ignoring you and escaping a potentially fatal situation.
Overall, you will be sending your pet in, doing huge ranged damage, clearing packs with fast speed, and evening being able to take on elites to complete some of the challenging Classic WoW quests. That’s why Hunter remains the king during hardcore classic WoW and is an S-tier pick for this challenge.
A Tier – Warlock
Warlock is a really good pick due to it having a range of pets, from damage dealer, tank, and interruption and utility. On top of this, you have a ton of utility in the use of fears, health stones, and health drains. A well-prepared warlock can take on most challenges Classic WoW Hardcore throws at you.
On top of all this, with a strong affliction build and proper DoT management a warlock takes a large amount of mobs at once, by rotating DoTs and fears. But like the mage, this is a unique playstyle that is very unforgiving if you misplay.
B Tier – Druid
Druid is a great class for those looking for variety in WoW Classic Hardcore. It doesn’t have the leveling speed and utility of a mage or hunter, but with the different forms, a druid can overcome a lot of classic WoWs challenges.
Cat form gives speed and stealth, aquatic form makes underwater missions so much easier, and the ability to slip into tank or healing roles on the fly makes a druid such a good choice for WoW Classic Hardcore. If you considering playing as part of a small group, taking a druid is an S-tier choice, but playing solo, it doesn’t perform as well, so sits at a B on the WoW Classic Hardcore Tier List
C Tier – Warrior
One of the strongest and most useful endgame classes in WoW Classic, the Warrior is a powerhouse. But it is incredibly slow and very gear-dependent. It has the same reliance on auto attacks and weapon swings as the paladin, without any healing and shields.
With the right gear, the warrior can take on strong mobs. But even with the right gear, if you get caught in a double spawn, or elite paths to you, you have very few ways to disengage the fight or heal. Which unfortunately leaves your character deleted in hardcore, so for this reason warrior is by far the worst class in this WoW Classic Hardcore Tier List.

There is no easy way to reach 60 in hardcore. This WoW Classic Hardcore Tier list just sets out some of the best and worst classes to help you make the right choice, as there are easier classes than others.
